Project Overview
Autonomy: The device can come in different shapes sizes and colours rendering them unique to each customer. A device that feels more a part of the user, the more integrated and intertwined they will be with each other and capable on conquering tasks, rather than external conditions affecting the outcome.
Competence: This device is a tool and an aid to all those who use it. It completes tasks successfully and efficiently allowing users to have control over their environment and conquer challenges.
Stimulation: Whilst using the device, Visual and Auditory senses will be Stimulated. In addition to the common 5 senses, there is another sense that understands where your body is in space. This sense is called proprioception. Whilst using the device a Visual GUI will be apparent acting as a stimuli. Sounds can be heard from the device when placing it in "standby mode" stimulating the auditory senses. Finally, as the Holographic Projector works using light diffraction it has to occur across a 3D plane stimulating the proprioceptors.
The World in 15 Years
With an ever increase in demand of natural resources, tech companies struggled to produce higher quality Smart Devices each year.
As materials became more finite they became more expensive. The tech companies increased the price of their products to retain the same profit margins.
However the solution was a device that could project and display the contents of any smart device through wireless connection. This meant that the struggle for LCDs (Liquid Crystal Display) disappeared leading the way to a new revolutionary technology (which is in development) entering the consumer market. One of these devices can be seen here.
A wearable holographic projection unit, capable of connecting to a smartphone and projecting what it sees.
